With the slow decline of working, free DNS codes, the team at NetflixDNSCodes has begun to search for alternatives. On the lines of American Netflix, only one real solution still exists. It’s the Overplay SmartDNS, which we have written extensively about in our post about the Netflix Proxy Error Fix.
However, looking at the bigger picture, it’s clear that there are actually better streaming alternatives that are emerging. No, I’m not exaggerating. I’m not going to suggest Shomi, CraveTV, or any other sub-par Netflix clone.
I’m talking about Kodi. For those of you that are unfamiliar, Kodi, previously called XBMC, is a media management software similar to Plex. Beyond just syncing up your media library between your mobile devices, TV, and computer, Kodi offers a free library of content that is unparalleled, even by American Netflix. Confused? Read on.
Kodi is open source, meaning that any developer can create their own addons (or plugins). Among the most popular of these addons are ones like Exodus. Exodus, Phoenix, and a few other Kodi addons essentially scrape the internet for free, HD streams of the latest movies and TV shows. Websites like AddonHQ offer installation guides on how you can configure and install these addons. Each one should take no more than 5 minutes to install from start to finish.
Is it illegal? Not to the best of our knowledge. Addons like these exist in a grey area since they essentially just embed free streams that are available on the internet. However, if you’re concerned about privacy, we recommend using a VPN like Overplay or IPVanish.
